WHY?…

This is a question that is asked a lot throughout life… It could be used in different settings with different contexts. It can make you remove your visual lens from seeing through your eyes, to now looking at yourself from above… The feeling of second-guessing yourself, maybe? Or are you certain?…

Scenario 1:

Thought: Okay, I am going to answer why.

Reality: [The answer]

Thought: Great, you answered the question, but did you really?

Though 2: Yes, I think so, I did a pretty good job.

Reality: Okay, he/she answered my question.

Thought: Okay, hopefully I answered the question. I do not want to look like [ ].

Reality: Why does he/she look unsure with his/her answer now?

Thought: Oh no, I did not answer the question, I can see it in his/her face.

Reality: I am unsure of him/her now…

Result: Someone who believed in you now second-guesses you because you are not confident in yourself.

This scenario has played out in my head countless times as I went into presentations, meetings, and unfamiliar settings. Times when I gave great answers but was unsure of my responses. I had to learn to be confident (this is a skill) and be okay with being uncomfortable (also a skill) … Plain and simple. Why don’t you give yourself that chance (you can form these skills)? You have more to lose by not trying (100% failure rate btw)…Decide
